I left the hotel and the weather was pretty nice, low 70's if I remember correctly. Ran up to Walgreens and got some SPF 100. I was battling the sun and it was winning. The tops of my hands are becoming increasingly red. I would just keep my gloves on if it wasn't 100 degrees outside (more on this later). This is the stuff I used it. It takes about 20 minutes of rubbing before it finally dissipates (no jokes please).
Next stop - Four Corners New Mexico
Maybe you know this, maybe you don't.... But the "Four Corners Monument" isn't on that actual state lines. It cost 5 dollars to get in and is surrounded by vendors. Not much else to say about this place, but I did take some pictures.
Since Utah is boarded with Colorado, I really expected the eastern side of the state to be a lot like the mountains I drove though yesterday. Negative, Utah is a whole breed of it's own! Lucky it can be explained through pictures which I took a ton. Observe -
This place is CRAZY!! There are canyons after canyons all over the place. These types of rocks, formations, and crazy colors went on for the next 180 miles to my next stop. Now that I look at them, the pictures don't really do it justice after all. The first thing that popped into my head when I got here was "I'M IN TATOONIE" (a place in Star Wars). Then had me thinking about a scene in Indiana Johns - The Last Crusade. We really do have it all here in North America.
Life was good until the heat started kicking in. I looked down at one point and it said 103 on my bike. I originally was going to take the back roads through the park to Richfield, which was about 2 hours longer than taking the express way. I honestly believe if I hadn't chosen the expressway I might of had a heat stroke. I suited up and got on the expressway. It cooled down about 50 miles down the road and the speed limit here is 80!! So you know I had it clocked at 90(+).

| When the heat first broke 100 degrees |
I'm getting up early tomorrow to truck it to Reno Nevada. I feel like there was more I wanted to talk about, but it's not coming to me. I could be a little brain dead from all the heat and riding. Speaking of which, I rolled 2000k miles right before I got here! Here's to 2000 more!
| I love how the interstate gets blurry, must of been going to fast for it to keep up. |
